Washington, D.C. | www.mpac.org | May 22, 2025 — The Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) is appalled by and unequivocally denounces the killing of two staff members affiliated with the Israeli Embassy during an event in Washington, D.C., on the evening of May 21.
Political violence has no place in our society and is a profound injustice and a direct affront to the principles of diplomatic immunity and protecting civilians that form the foundation of both our faith and our democracy.
In this moment, MPAC extends its condolences to the victims’ families and others impacted by this tragedy. We reaffirm our shared commitment with all groups for safety, compassion, and coexistence for all people.
Now more than ever, we must reject hatred and division, whether it’s the rising tide of antisemitism or scapegoating of any group. MPAC remains dedicated to fostering interfaith partnerships, advancing mutual respect, and building a nation where every individual is free to live without fear or violence.
