Friend --

The chorus of powerful voices speaking out against unilateral annexation
keeps getting louder and louder -- including in the US Senate and on the
campaign trail.

Last month, 19 senators signed on to a powerful letter led by Sens. Chris
Murphy, Tim Kaine and Chris Van Hollen, cautioning that annexation “would
mark a dramatic reversal of decades of shared understandings between the
United States, Israel, the Palestinians and the international community,
and would have a clear impact on both Israel’s future and our vital
bilateral and bipartisan relationship.”

And they’ve been joined by nine other senators and eight candidates for
Senate who have now issued their own strong statements and letters
opposing annexation and the damage it would do to Israeli and US
interests, along with the stability of the entire region. [ [link removed] ]That makes a
total of 28 senators and 8 Senate candidates who have gone on the record
so far.

Thanks in part to your advocacy efforts, more and more lawmakers have
publicly spoken out against this threat -- giving even more weight to the
overwhelming consensus of opposition to annexation we’ve already seen from
American and Israeli security officials, communal leaders and foreign
policy experts.

Most prominently, Vice President Joe Biden has warned against the
disastrous ramifications of annexation: “Israel needs to stop the threat
of annexation and stop settlement activity, because it will choke off any
hope for peace.” He noted that the US “cannot fully safeguard Israelis
without peace.” Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has echoed the same
concern: “Unilateral annexation puts the future at risk and undermines US
national security interests and decades of bipartisan policy.”

Together, we are helping to make sure that responsible leaders like these
push back decisively against the extreme agenda of Trump and Netanyahu --
and to amplify their message when they do.

So much is at stake right now: Israel’s security and democracy,
Palestinian rights and aspirations, the future of the US-Israel
relationship.

I’m proud of the powerful anti-annexation movement we’ve helped grow
together over the past few weeks. And with less than a month left until
the Israeli government can move forward with a vote to commence unilateral
annexation, we can’t stop now.
