H.R. 1 - "One Big Beautiful Bill"

Today, I proudly voted YES on H.R. 1 "One Big Beautiful BIll" -taking a strong stand to enhance our border security, lower taxes for working families and seniors, and safeguard Medicaid for those who need it most.
 
✅ BORDER SECURITY
Our border is my TOP priority. And this bill adds 10,000 ICE personnel; 5,000 customs officers; 3,000 Border Patrol agents, AND includes bonuses for frontline agents!

PLUS, the bill finishes hundreds of miles of border wall.

✅ CUTS TAXES
Through this bill, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) is extended, ensuring a pro-growth tax code that PREVENTS the largest tax increase in American history.

Without this vital extension, families in our congressional district would face an unnecessary burden of an additional $1,480 in taxes each year.

AND, this bill delivers on two of President Trump's promises:
1. No tax on tips
2. No tax on overtime

✅ MEDICAID
The Democrats have been lying - and will keep lying - about what this bill does in regards to Medicaid. Because of my work to fight to protect Medicaid, our most vulnerable, single moms, the disabled, the elderly, & the needy will continue to receive care.

In addition, there are needed work requirements and stronger eligibility checks! 

This bill roots out waste, fraud, & abuse by implementing stronger eligibility verification & work requirements for able-bodied adults with no dependents.

MAKE NO MISTAKE: Democrats will use fear and lies to try and destroy the good work this bill does. Working hand-in-hand with local hospitals, health care providers and stakeholders over the last several months, our district had a seat at the table that influenced and changed the outcome of this bill for the BETTER of our community! 

I am GRATEFUL to President Trump, Speaker Johnson and all of leadership for delivering on key promises that benefit our district, and I am PROUD to be fighting for you every day.
