Trump ambushes South African president over "genocide" accusation with disingenuous Oval Office video presentation
For at least the second time since returning to the White House, the MAGA cult leader has turned the Oval Office into a reality TV show set, ambushing another world leader in bad faith with cameras rolling, of course. Trump surprised South African counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa on Wednesday by playing him a video that he claimed proved "genocide" is being committed by Black people against white people, which is an entirely fictional, white supremacist conspiracy theory championed by — you guessed it — Elon Musk, who was standing just off camera. The wannabe dictator insultingly accused Ramaphosa of complicity, stating: "You do allow them to take land, and then when they take the land, they kill the white farmer, and when they kill the white farmer, nothing happens to them." Donald also showed news clippings that he said backed up his claims. One actually featured a photo from the Democratic Republic of Congo while another showed a field of white crosses that Trump claimed was a graveyard of dead farmers but was actually an art installation created by a group of Afrikaner farmers to drive their false victimization narrative. Oops. Initially stunned by the stunt, Ramaphosa kept his composure, flatly refuted Trump's claims — and calmly explained basic rule of law to his disingenuous counterpart. Ramaphosa also pointed out that most victims of South Africa's notoriously high crime rate are actually Black and said the politicians cherry-picked for Trump's video hit piece were actually from the opposition party, which he has steadfastly opposed. Trump himself strongly gave the impression that he was hearing this information for this first time, and it's pretty clear that someone else in the administration is exploiting our gravy-brained president to turn his appallingly racist conspiracy theories into official foreign policy. It must also be noted that Ramaphosa jokingly apologized for not having a plane to give to Donald, who responded with genuine disappointment. Just another colossally embarrassing day for the dumbest and most corrupt administration in US history.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Democrat wins massive upset in deep-red Trump district
Some major news out of the Empire State that should set off blinking red lights for Republicans. Democrat Sam Sutton just won a special election for New York state Senate District 22 — which Donald Trump carried by a whopping 55 POINTS just six months ago — by a shocking 2-to-1 margin. That's an astounding 89-point swing from red to blue in a matter of months. More of this, please!

Marine veteran answers call to resist Trump
JoAnna Mendoza for Congress: JoAnna Mendoza served our country for twenty years as a drill sergeant in the United States Marines, training the brave men and women who defend our country overseas, and now she’s ready to defend our nation from Donald Trump’s extremism in the halls of Congress. As a lifelong public servant, JoAnna refuses to sit idly by while Donald Trump and Elon dismantle the systems that provide for our veterans after their service and send countless more vets to the unemployment line with their gutting of the federal government. Will you chip in to help Joanna flip this winnable red seat and take back control of Congress from the GOP?
Two Israeli embassy staff shot dead near Jewish museum in Washington, DC
A suspect is in custody after shooting dead two Israeli embassy staff outside a Jewish museum in Washington on Wednesday night. The gunman, named by police as Elias Rodriguez, 30, of Chicago, approached a group of four people leaving an event at the Capital Jewish Museum and opened fire, killing Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim. After killing the pair, who officials said were a couple, Rodriguez walked inside, where event security detained him. The suspect yelled: "Free, free Palestine," after he was arrested. Rodriguez was not on any security watchlists and there were no heightened security threats before the shooting, officials said.
Top 10 wealthiest American men collectively earned an extra $1 billion each day last year, report says, as Trump pushes for tax cuts
A jaw-dropping new report from Oxfam really hammers home the obscene disparity between America's 10 wealthiest men and basically everyone else. The group — which includes space cowboys Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos and other Trump allies like reality-rawdoggin' Mark Zuckerberg — saw an increase in their collective wealth of a whopping $365 billion over the last 12 months alone. According to Oxfam, it would take 726,000 years for ten US workers with median earnings to make the equivalent of these 10 men. In contrast, if the wealth gains of the 10 richest billionaires were taxed like income from work, they would owe a collective and incredibly reasonable $135 billion in taxes. According to Oxfam, even a modest three percent tax on wealth over $1 billion would raise more than $50 billion from these 10 oligarchs alone — enough to cover the entire federal rental assistance budget or a full year of food assistance for 22.5 million people. But sure, what they really need now is another massive, immoral tax cut courtesy of Donald Trump paid for by tens of millions of vulnerable Americans, living month-to-month lives on literal and metaphorical scraps.

Trump’s "big, beautiful" tax giveaway to the rich passes the House of Representatives by a single vote
By a vote of 215-214, House Republicans managed to advance the MAGA cult leader's "big, beautiful bill," moving one step closer to making permanent trillions of dollars in tax cuts that disproportionately benefit the wealthy, ultra-wealthy, and let's-fuck-around-in-space wealthy. The measure also lifts the nation's debt limit by $4 trillion and makes draconian cuts to both Medicaid and SNAP, once again threatening the health and stability of millions of lower-class Americans for the benefit of those who basically already have everything. It makes no sense, unless you have hotels on Boardwalk and Park Place, own all the railroads, and continually draw nothing but "Advance To Go" cards from a deck stacked in your favor from birth. Unfortunately, Democrats could have blocked this bill if two of their members hadn't passed away in office in the past two months. Gerry Connolly, who was battling esophogeal cancer, died earlier this week at age 75. 77-year-old Raúl Grijalva preceded him in death two months prior after a prolonged battle with lung cancer. It should also be noted that the last eight members of Congress to die in office have all been Democrats.
Trump administration asks Supreme Court to keep DOGE records secret
Well, well, well. What do we have here? The Trump regime is asking the Supreme Court to block a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to open the inner workings of Elon Musk's secretive DOGE cost-cutting crusade to public scrutiny, likely because a) it has been an unmitigated failure producing a mere fraction of the "savings" Phony Stark promised, b) the operation's shock-and-awe campaign to slash the federal workforce and kill vital programs the MAGA cult leader and his tech bro sidekick simply don't like has run afoul of many federal laws, or c) both. Let's hope at least five justices see the light and let the American public get a good look at just how much havoc these bozos have wreaked.

GOP lawmakers plot to kick millions off their healthcare
Care Can’t Wait: Lawmakers are coming for Medicaid — the program that covers more than 1 in 5 Americans. We’re talking kids, seniors, people with disabilities, caregivers, and millions of everyday folks who rely on it just to get by. The people who literally keep households running are being shut out of basic health coverage. Without Medicaid, essential doctor visits, medications, and basic care is out of reach for so many. Click here to tell your reps it’s time to fix that mess and DEMAND they take action to protect our healthcare!
Commerce secretary teases imminent launch of Trump’s "gold card" visa
America™ is officially for sale, ba-by! Without a hint of self-awareness, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick — whose net worth is approximately $3.2 billion — boasted about the imminent launch of Trumpcard.gov and proclaimed: "Everyone I meet who’s not an American is going to want to buy the card if they have the fiscal capacity." Which card? Why, the Gold Card, complete with Donald's face on the front, of course. For a cool $5 million, anyone can sign up for a special green-card-with-benefits, despite lingering uncertainty over the legality of the plan. Experts have repeatedly questioned whether Trump has the legal authority to implement the scheme without congressional approval. Something tells us the MAGA fascists won't bother seeking the legislative branch's input on this one.
Danish father of 4 arrested by ICE at naturalization meeting
A Danish man living in Mississippi for a dozen years has been imprisoned in Louisiana for more than a month after Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers took him into custody because of a “paperwork miscommunication” during his effort to become a naturalized US citizen, his wife says. Kasper Juul Eriksen, now 32, left his home in Aalborg, Denmark, as a teenager in 2009 and spent a year in the US as a high school exchange student in Starkville, Mississippi. He and a local teenager, Savannah Hobart, fell in love. After he returned to Denmark’s fourth-largest city, he and Savannah maintained their relationship for four years, across an ocean and seven time zones. Eriksen returned to the United States in 2013, and the pair married the following year. For years, Kasper went through the process of trying to become a US citizen, and Savannah Eriksen — now homeschooling their children and pregnant with their fifth baby, due in August — said her husband’s move toward citizenship appeared to be on track. Eriksen received notice last September that his naturalization application was being reviewed, and records from the US government raised no questions about his paperwork, Savannah said. Kasper and Savannah Eriksen went to Memphis, Tennessee, on April 15 so he could be interviewed about naturalization, where they were met by ICE agents who arrested Eriksen. "Kasper was detained for a paperwork miscommunication from 2015, and I was sent home with no explanation and no idea where my husband had been transported," Savannah Eriksen said in a statement she released late Monday to Mississippi Today. It is so good to be great again.
"I was threatened by Trump today": House Republican asks for donations after president goes after him
Kentucky Republican and self-described deficit hawk Thomas Massie turned his opposition to the MAGA cult leader's "big, beautiful bill" into an appeal for campaign donations on social media on Tuesday night, hours after Donald Trump labeled him a "grandstander" for voting against the massive tax cut package that would, in fact, explode the national deficit. "We're going to add $20 trillion to the debt over the next 10 years, which is three and a half to $5 trillion more than would have been added otherwise," Massie told CNN’s Manu Raju on Tuesday, calling Republican claims that the sweeping bill is "deficit-neutral" a "joke." Donald did not let the moment go unnoticed, opining: "I don't think Thomas Massie understands government. I think he’s a grandstander, frankly. He'll probably vote. We don't even talk to him much. I think you should be voted out of office." Stay tuned for more "friendly" fire and perhaps a primary challenge in Kentucky's 4th district!
Judge reprimands Alina Habba’s office for "embarrassing" case against New Jersey mayor
A federal judge tore into New Jersey prosecutors over the high-profile arrest of Newark Mayor Ras Baraka outside an immigration detention center earlier this month only to dismiss the case against him days later. Interim US Attorney for New Jersey Alina Habba, Trump’s personal attorney, appeared on Fox News on May 9 shortly after federal agents arrested Baraka during a protest outside the facility, which has been the site of ongoing demonstrations demanding transparency about the conditions inside. Baraka was charged with trespassing, but Habba announced on May 19 that she was dropping the case "for the sake of moving forward. Magistrate Judge Andre Espinosa called the ordeal an "embarrassing retraction." That's one way to describe it. Fascistic intimidation also fits.

Doom and doomer
