In Ethiopia, where government forces and the regional Fano militia are still fighting a civil war, many journalists are facing imprisonment.
Thanks to your generosity, Yeshihasab Abera, a deputy editor of the Ethiopian state-owned Bekur newspaper, was finally released from prison. Held for months by the Ethiopian government with no legal charges against him, Yeshihasab relied on CPJ's advocacy to gain his freedom.

Because of press freedom champions like you, we were able to stand with Yeshihasab every step of the way. Thanks to your support, more journalists like him can continue to report the news safely and without fear of reprisal.
Please consider making a donation today to help us continue to fight for all imprisoned journalists worldwide.
Your gift makes all the difference in ensuring they can return home to their families and continue their critical work.
With appreciation,
John Weis
