Donald Trump says America should “forget about” the separation of church and state -- LGBTQ Nation
John,
Donald Trump just said the quiet part out loud: “The radical left is trying to destroy religion in America. We’re going to bring back religion. We’re going to bring it back strong. You know, in a way, we don't have separation of church and state.”
Let’s be clear, this is a threat. The extremist right has long used their religious ideology to attack LGBTQ+ rights and civil rights across the board. It’s not just about religion. It’s about power. It’s about imposing one narrow worldview on all of us. And it’s about silencing LGBTQ+ people, banning our books, restricting our healthcare, and rolling back decades of progress.
We’ve seen what happens when bigots are emboldened. We saw it in Dobbs. We saw it in Shilling, which banned trans troops in the military. We’re seeing it in school boards and legislatures across the country. And now Trump wants to erase one of the most fundamental principles of our democracy.
John, we must elect LGBTQ+ leaders who will protect our rights and stand up to this theocratic takeover. Rush a donation to help elect LGBTQ+ champions and form a firewall against hate!
If extremists like Trump get their way, they’ll ban books that feature LGBTQ+ people, defund schools that teach inclusive values, and weaponize religion to justify discrimination and strip away our rights. This isn’t just political theater, it’s a roadmap for how they plan to dismantle our democracy and target our communities.
The only way to stop them is at the ballot box. We need pro-equality majorities who will fight for ALL of us—regardless of who we are or who we love. Make a donation today. Stand up for the separation of church and state—and for LGBTQ+ rights!
This is not normal. It’s not safe. And it’s not going away on its own. Let’s meet this moment with strength and elect the leaders who will fight back.
Thank you for fighting with us,
Orie Givens
