Black Lives Matter.
Ending police violence is a reproductive justice issue. We stand in solidarity with people all over the world who have been speaking out, protesting, and educating others to end the targeted, racist killings of Black people.
Pride is and has always been about protest. This June is an opportunity to celebrate the transgender women of color whose bravery and leadership during the Stonewall riots was the catalyst for the modern-day LGBTQ+ rights movement. We must never forget that the Stonewall riots brought to light the unjust laws and police violence inflicted on queer communities, and that queer people of color are on the frontlines demanding justice and accountability today.
During this difficult time, community is more important than ever. As we eagerly wait to hear the Supreme Court decision in the Louisiana Case, June Medical Services v. Russo, which has the potential to shape the future of abortion access across the country, we encourage you to join us online.

Self-Care as Perseverance: Centering Yourself
Thursday, June 25, 2020 | 10:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. ET
Registration is required.
As activists, we often forget about our own healing and relief. We must care for ourselves to ensure that we are able to show up for others and ourselves, and hold each other accountable.
Join us for this guided thirty-minute self-care event that will focus on deep breathing, rest, and relaxation. You will be guided through postures, movement, and breathing exercises that will help you release tension, let go of anxiety, and center yourself. Poses will be offered with modifications to fit your practice and ability. This will be a short, but well-rounded practice; however, some time will be spent on releasing tension from the hip flexors, as the hips hold the most tension, trauma, and anxiety.
Please bring a water bottle, a towel to lay on or a yoga mat, a hand towel, and yourself. Make sure you wear comfortable and breathable clothing. Bare feet or socks are encouraged. Ensure that you are able to move freely on a mat or in your space.
Space is limited, and registration is required.

Self-Care
In this moment of uncertainty, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or helpless. Reproaction’s strategic plan affirms the importance of self-care, especially in activism and resistance.
Here are our self-care tips for June:
-
Write a letter. During quarantine I’ve made a habit of sending friends letters and postcards in the mail. It’s a great way to express gratitude and let the people in your life know how much they mean to you. Plus, checking my mailbox for letters adds joy to my day. - Caitlin, Organizing Lead
-
Educate yourself. Take the time to learn about and celebrate Juneteenth in a culturally appropriate way. Need to unwind? Watch the best cartoon ever created, Avatar, The Last Airbender, on Netflix. - Eva, Missouri Organizer
-
Try Baking! Bake something easy that doesn't require a lot of focus. It makes you use your hands! Creating something with my hands helps me get out of my own head. My favorite go-to is chocolate chip cookies or chocolate chip banana bread. - Nataley, Wisconsin Organizer
Self-care is an act of resistance. Be good to yourself. For some tips on how you can reduce stress, check out this resource.
In Solidarity,
Caitlin, Evonnia, and Nataley
