Contentious South Africa Meeting in Oval Office

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa came to Washington seeking what he called a reset in relations with the U.S. But his meeting with President Trump in the Oval Office on Wednesday devolved into a tense exchange over perceived threats to white farmers in South Africa, as the WSJ reports.

Iranian Officials Warn Nuclear Talks in Peril

Iranian officials are urging the United States to agree to a deal over Iran’s nuclear program but warned this week that negotiations could be in jeopardy because of the Trump administration’s insistence that Tehran accept zero enrichment of uranium, as The Washington Post reports.

Pakistan’s military has called on the international community to restrain India from renewed hostilities, warning that further attacks would prompt Islamabad to “hit even harder” after they exchanged fire this month, as the FT reports.
