John, I love being a dad.

As a dad and the Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania, I’m in the unique position to be able to push our state toward policy that will do right by my daughter and her generation.

I believe we owe it to our kids and grandkids to make things better than how they were for us, and that’s why I feel so lucky I get to do that work as LG every day. I’m incredibly grateful I get to be part of that change, in no small part thanks to supporters like you. Every dollar you’re able to chip in goes a long way.

Right now, we’re witnessing an unprecedented rolling back of hard-won progress at the federal level because of the Trump administration. From healthcare, to SNAP, to childcare, pretty much every critical service that working families rely on to get by is under threat.

The thing is, the goal shouldn’t just be “getting by.” As the working class is striving toward better for their children, the Trump administration and national Republicans are actively fighting against their ability to do so. It’s disturbing.

By going after funding for programs like SNAP and Medicaid, or subsidized childcare, we force families into a cycle of living pay-check to pay-check, never being able to get ahead. In doing that, leadership is failing the people they were trusted to fight for.

I’m reminded of my own parents, who I watched struggle to put food on our table despite their hard work. I think of how hard I’m willing to fight if it means even one fewer family has to go through that.

As your Lieutenant Governor, and especially as a father, I can’t understand taking resources away from families trying to do better by their kids. I need you to know you can count on me to stand up for families, no matter their income, and make sure everyone has a fair shot at a better future.
