** NEW BRIEFING
------------------------------------------------------------
** Uniting Legislators for Trans Rights:
------------------------------------------------------------
** Lessons from Montana Reps. Zooey Zephyr & SJ Howell
------------------------------------------------------------
Join Montana Rep. Zooey Zephyr, Rep. SJ Howell, and the State Innovation Exchange for a strategic conversation on the lessons learned in Montana, and how state leaders across the country can collaborate in defense of transgender rights ([link removed]) , towards expanding gender justice for all.
In March of 2025, the Montana legislature made international headlines: “
‘Stop these crazy bills’: Republicans join Democrats to defeat anti-trans legislation in Montana ([link removed]) .” In an unprecedented move, bipartisan support defeated two extreme anti-trans bills.
These would be the first of several anti-trans bills introduced during the legislative session, of the hundreds introduced in states across the country.
This briefing is available to state legislators, staff, and partner organizations.
