But that threat hasn’t gone away. If anything, it’s getting worse.

John,Since 1965, Head Start has been one of our nation’s most successful tools for lifting children out of poverty. It’s provided generations of kids from low-income families with access to early education, nutrition, and healthcare. Now, it’s under threat.

Donald Trump and his Republican minions in Congress are targeting Head Start — they’re considering cutting its funding or even totally eliminating it. If they get their way, the consequences will be devastating .

This program currently serves over 790,000 children under five, giving them a safe place to learn, grow, and thrive. Cutting its funding would mean longer waitlists, higher childcare costs, and even fewer options for families who are already struggling — especially in rural areas. This is not what progress looks like.

Head Start is proven to create better educational outcomes. It reduces teen pregnancy and incarceration rates and helps kids build brighter futures and access more opportunities.
