This isn’t controversial: When someone breaks the law, they should be held accountable. And the President of the United States is no exception.

That’s why I just introduced the Protecting Our Constitution and Communities Act (POCCA), legislation that will allow individuals, states, and local jurisdictions to sue the Trump Administration for its flagrant violations of the law.

If you believe Donald Trump has no right to toss aside the Constitution, will you become a Citizen Cosponsor of POCCA right now? The only chance we have of holding Trump accountable for illegal behavior is if we ALL stand tough and keep fighting for change.

Since the beginning of the year, Donald Trump and Elon Musk have unlawfully withheld billions of dollars in congressionally appropriated funds, taking a wrecking ball to the basic functions of government across the country.

Because of these illegal actions, communities remain locked out of critical dollars to improve the lives of the American people, including resources for early childhood education, affordable housing, cancer screenings, and so much more.

Let me be very clear: Donald Trump’s blatant attempts to consolidate power in the executive branch aren’t the actions of a president. They’re the actions of a wannabe King.

But with the POCCA bill, we’re creating a new way for the American people to fight back.
