It rattled me, but did not break my American spirit

John,

For over a month now, you’ve been hearing from my husband Mike Rogers, his
campaign team, and supporters across Michigan aboutwhy 2026 is a make-or-break
election, why Mike is the right leader at the right time, and how flipping this
seat is key to keeping the Senate red and advancing President Trump’s agenda.
All of that is true.
Today, I wanted to take a moment to share a bit of my story — and why I know,
beyond a doubt, that Mike Rogers is a man worthy of your trust and support.
I was deployed to Iraq in the height of the conflict in the Middle East while
working for the Department of Defense.
Here’s a picture of me from back then:

And on a fateful day, my team and I were traveling through the city of
Baghdad. You have to understand that just getting around the region as
Americans at this point was incredibly dangerous.
We were told to stay in the middle lane of the highway, to keep as much of a
distance between us and the explosive devices that lined the roads as possible.
The terrorists were always waiting for their opportunity to attack.
Suddenly — it happened.
I can still remember what it was like to have my head spinning, with my ears
ringing and surrounded by smoke.
When I finally realized what happened, I was incredibly grateful to have made
it out alive, as others in the car next to us were not as lucky.
After this incident, my husband often jokes that when there’s a bump in the
night at home, he sends me to check things out and make sure we are safe.
But the truth is that my husband, Mike Rogers, is the strongest, most
courageous, and honorable man I’ve ever known.

It takes guts to get back into politics these days — especially with the folks
on the other side gearing up to spend tens of millions of dollars to lie about
you and your family in the name of scoring cheap political points.
As a young man, Mike fought cancer and worked two jobs — one on the floor of
an automotive factory, and one in security — just to put himself through
college.
My husband is an Army veteran, former FBI agent, and even chaired the House
Intelligence Committee in the tough days after 9/11.
He also has been taking the fight to Communist China — going so far as to
break from his fellow Republicans to blow the whistle on the threats that the
CCP poses.
It just doesn’t get any tougher than that.
Mike is the kind of man that does what is right, no matter the personal
consequence.
And he is the kind of man that is deserving of your support. Because with Mike
in the Senate, you can know that there is someone in your corner, fighting for
you and preserving our great American values.
