Hello John, My colleagues at AFP recently had one of the nation’s top polling firms, Public Opinion Strategies, conduct a poll on the issue of taxes — specifically, renewing the Trump tax cuts. The results delivered a clear message to Washington. It is often said that you can’t get Americans to agree on anything. Not so. This poll shows that when it comes to taxes, Americans do agree. According to Jim Hobart, who conducted the poll: “Clear majorities of voters across the partisan spectrum view failing to extend these tax cuts as hurting the political third rails of middle-class families and small businesses. Any member of Congress who chooses to vote against extending these tax cuts would be placing themselves in political peril.” You can’t say Congress hasn’t been warned! Here are a few findings from the poll that show how deep support is for renewing the 2017 Trump tax cuts: - 84% of voters want to extend the Trump tax cuts to keep tax rates from increasing.
- 95% of Republicans, 81% of independents, and even 74% of Democrats support renewing the tax cuts.
- Voters across party lines agree that renewing the tax cuts is critical for protecting small businesses, middle-class families, consumers, and the overall economy from the harmful effects of higher taxes.
- 85% of voters want Congress to vote ASAP to renew the tax cuts.
The results of this poll were featured in the New York Post, the Washington Times, and Breitbart. Also, our friends over at the “Ruthless Podcast” helped us spread the good word on how Americans overwhelmingly want tax cuts. Check out what they have to say here. |
