There's one thing I quickly learned during my time running for Congress: Eliot Engel and his supporters will stop at nothing to make sure his seat is protected.

Just three days ago, we reported that dark money groups had poured over $588,000 into Eliot Engel's campaign after hearing that our campaign had outraised his. Today, that number is up to $927,000 — and counting.

We don't need contributions from corporate PACs or lobbyists to win this election — but what we do need, John, is your support. Will you chip in $5 to our campaign so we can fight back against Eliot Engel's dark money?

We need 6,000 more donors to reach our mid-month goal of 15,000 donors by midnight tonight. Every contribution counts:  

Believe it or not, that $927,000 number isn't even all that Eliot Engel has in his war chest.

It doesn't include the huge checks that corporate PACs and lobbyists are sending for extra last-minute ad buys, campaign literature, and phone banks. They're trying to drown our grassroots campaigning out in any way they can because, for once, they have a real challenge at their hands.

Victory is within reach, John. The momentum that our campaign has been experiencing is real — and it's been translating into some great results, like:

• Our phone banks are making up to 70,000 calls per day to voters in New York's 16th District.
• We've received over 40,000 contributions and counting to the campaign so far.
• We're endorsed by progressive champions like Bernie Sanders and AOC, along with progressive organizations like the Sunrise Movement and the Working Families Party.

We've only been able to get this far because of the support of people like you — no corporate PACs, lobbyists, or special interests involved. I'm proud that our campaign is largely funded by individual donors, but that means that we're relying on our supporters like you to help keep us going to the finish line.

Our final mid-month deadline is tonight at midnight — and we still need 6,000 more donors to reach our mid-month goal of 15,000 donors. Every contribution, regardless of dollar amount, counts towards helping us achieve this goal, will be put to good use. Will you chip in?
