Since its founding, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has existed to protect and advance the health and well-being of the American people. Now, under Donald Trump and his hand-picked Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., that mission is being threatened.

Thousands of federal health workers have been fired. Critical disease surveillance labs have been shuttered. Life-saving programs for mental health care, addiction treatment, and cancer screening are being cut or eliminated entirely.

I’m doing everything in my power as Attorney General to stop this assault on our health system. Trump and RFK Jr. are robbing our communities of resources that Congress already appropriated, affecting programs that millions of Marylanders rely on.
