Dear Friend,
Since I took office, I have been focused on expanding access to high-quality, affordable early learning for working families, including my goal of PreK for All.
I’m proud to report that we are moving closer to that goal with a record 56% of Michigan's four-year-olds getting free high-quality early education this school year. The Great Start Readiness Program, Michigan's free PreK program, has reached its highest enrollment in a decade, saving families $10,000 a year for a total of $475 million in savings statewide.

As I work with the Legislature on a seventh balanced, bipartisan budget, let’s continue to build on this momentum to set up more kids for lifelong success and save even more families more money.
We want all families with 4-year-olds to know that they can enroll now in free, high-quality PreK this fall. *Enrollment is now open to all families, regardless of income, for the 2025-26 school year.*

Pre-K for All Enrollment Now Open for 2025-26 School Year
The Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential (MiLEAP), local school leaders, and providers from across the state recently gathered to encourage families to enroll 4-year-olds in our no-cost, high-quality PreK for All program.
We know that PreK for All gives kids the strong foundation they need to thrive in kindergarten while also saving families up to $10,000 a year. When our kids start ahead, they stay ahead. PreK not only benefits 4-year-olds, but it also benefits our economy as families can work or go to school knowing their children are safe and learning.
Here are the facts about Michigan’s PreK for All program:
* Enrollment in PreK for All is now open for the 2025-26 school year for children who will be 4 years old by December 1, 2025.
* PreK for All is open to all families, no matter their income, while prioritizing those who need it most.
* PreK for All offers four-day, five-day, full-day, and half-day options across the state. Additionally, transportation options are available in some areas.
