Team, Last month the House passed the Raise the Wage Act, which would increase the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour, give 34 million hard-working Americans a raise and lift more than 1 million Americans out of poverty. But it didn’t even get a vote in the Senate. Why not? Well, this important legislation is being blocked and is waiting for a vote by Mitch McConnell. That’s why I’m asking you: can you add your name with mine to call on the Senate to vote on the Raise the Wage Act? We have a chance to improve the lives of millions of Americans. Today, families throughout the country are working harder for less pay. Even while holding 1, 2 or 3 jobs, Americans are finding it more and more difficult to make ends meet. This is why I need you to add your name to my petition today. It’s up to us to call on the Republican-controlled Senate to join us in the fight for working-class families. Since we flipped the House blue, we’ve been working hard to level the playing field for families throughout the country. Passing the Raise the Wage Act is a great start, but let’s show Mitch McConnell that we demand the Senate do more. Thank you, Cindy Axne Paid for by Cindy Axne for Congress |
