There’s a divergence on how conservatives and liberals typically look at our presidential leaders.

Conservatives have often said we may not always support the specific president in charge, but we always support the Office of the President. The Office is bigger than the elected official.
Since 2016, there has been a shift in emotional reactions to presidential elections. I can recall watching the 2016 election and the amount of crying that existed at the Javits Center when Hillary Clinton chose not to concede and left many of her supporters in limbo in the early hours of the morning.

The common feeling was especially that the first female president did not happen in 2016 with Hillary and again it did not happen in 2024 with Kamala as first female Black/Caribbean/Indian President being elected.

Since 2016 up until this election and then afterwards, the amount of hatred for President Donald J Trump has been a consistent theme by the liberals, MSNBC, CNN and all left media.
Almost every day and especially at dinners, I’ve had to sit at tables in the Tri-State Area where it’s a common topic to discuss the vile hatred for President Trump and the explicit wishes for his demise. It is like the pre-appetizer for these meals and many assume I automatically subscribe to their misinformed hatred.
This is typically across all socioeconomic levels. With the diagnosis of President Biden’s advanced prostate cancer, that has spread to his bones (with a Gleason score of 9, which indicates his cancer is among the most aggressive), the conservative focus, and I hate to make this a political differentiating factor has been one of compassion.
Conservatives (not just leaders being diplomatic) start with prayers for his prognosis and many reference the fact that everybody has a family member who will suffer or has suffered through cancer.
Conservatives then turn to a focus on the causes of prostate cancer and the fact that despite the Presidential Cadillac Concierge Coverage with a medical team around him, this was apparently “missed” given his age. More will be revealed about the choice not to perform a simple PSA blood test with a no-insurance cost of up to $300, despite claims that his last prostate screening was at the age of 72.
Now this will lead into an investigation as to whether the American public was misled or decevied and a call to action for an extension of prostate cancer screenings. Unfortantely this is where a divide will likely begin as to cognitive health etc that was also raised by the left against Trump.
There should be outrage in our healthcare system because if they “missed” this for the President how many others in this country are doomed to the same plight.
If the shoe was on the other foot, you would have so many more people wishing for death, a long and painful death, toTrump and a continuation of the modern liberal mentality that they’re right and whoever goes against him should not be able to speak, should die or should be put away in jail. Just remember when Trump had COVID [ [link removed] ]
Back to Medicine - How do we prevent missed diagnosis?
As far as the prostate issue, given the health concerns, many of these can be diagnosed by a simple PSA test, blood test and a rectal exam. See CDC Reccomendations [ [link removed] ] for up to age 69 and then for testing over 70 if the following symptoms are present (Difficulty starting urination. Weak or interrupted flow of urine, Urinating often, especially at night, Trouble emptying the bladder completely, Pain or burning during urination, Blood in the urine or semen, Pain in the back, hips, or pelvis that doesn't go away, Painful ejaculation.) See CDC List [ [link removed] ]
This may be revised given the inexpensive tests to detect versus the costs of cancer treatments. It is time to treat patients first rather than statistics first.
Next Steps
As Americans in a politically divided nation, we need to look to the compassion again. There’s way too much hatred in this country and it’s usually across political lines. It’s time we start seeing each other as individuals as humans as Americans first and put policy in politics aside.
You cannot be silent any longer - I will not be silent at these tables any longer and if your friends cannot respect your views and agree to disagree, then there is a fundamental issue with those relationships. I promise its not you, its them. Start having the tough conversations.
It is through healthy dialogue (with a respect for the other person and a pause before reacting emotionally) that we can stop the discord and sow the seeds of harmony. Time to unite, and usually this country unites in times of trouble. We cannot remain the Divided States of America if we intend to prevail against our adversaries.
