This is straight out of the authoritarian playbook.

While Trump and Musk have fired tens of thousands of federal workers, gutted federal programs for low-income Americans, and threatened the livelihoods of millions more, all in the name of “government efficiency”, he’s now proposing an 8-figure parade to boost his own ego.

For Trump, his “big, beautiful parade” is more important than ensuring impoverished families have a roof over their heads and food on the table.
