Friend,
I’m Sasan Korangy, a high school sophomore and a second-year intern with CURE Epilepsy. I applied to the CURE Epilepsy internship because I love science and understanding how the brain works. But more than that, I wanted to feel connected to my mom's story.
My mom has epilepsy, and her journey has deeply shaped me. I remember being a little kid at the dinner table suddenly struck with anxiety and thinking, “What if it happens now?” Today her seizures are controlled, but that doesn't mean living with epilepsy is easy or over. Small adjustments in my family’s day-to-day life are a constant reminder that epilepsy is still part of our lives.
That is why funding epilepsy research aimed at discovering cures is so vital. Epilepsy is a constant presence in people’s lives – but we believe it doesn’t have to be. Will you invest in research to give families hope and create real progress? ([link removed])
