State Legislative Tracking
FutureEd continues to monitor state legislative activity on key education issues:

Tutoring ([link removed])
We're tracking 30 bills in 17 states ([link removed]) that mandate new tutoring initiatives, earmark funding for tutoring, or strengthen tutoring infrastructure in public education. Two bills have been enacted so far—one providing $1 million in funding for at-risk students in New Mexico, and another increasing tutoring grants for parents in Arkansas.

Private-School Choice ([link removed])
This session, we’re following 114 bills across 30 states ([link removed]) focused on expanding, revising, or limiting private school choice. So far, five states have created or expanded universal programs, bringing the total to 16 states with programs permitting every family to use public funding for private schooling.

Chronic Absenteeism ([link removed])
We’re monitoring 56 bills across 22 states ([link removed]) aimed at addressing chronic absenteeism. Eight measures have been enacted into law to date. Among other things, they refine the definition of absenteeism, mandate studies of the causes and consequences of chronic absenteeism, limit disciplinary actions again absent students, and require stronger attendance tracking requirements.
