***Not ONE, but TWO victories for animals!***

Dear John,

We have some incredible news to share with you!!!

Firstly, as you know, we have been waiting for news about the planning application for Cumbria Safari Zoo (AKA South Lakes Zoo) to move to a new site in Tebay, Yorkshire.

We can now confirm that they have been DENIED this planning permission and will not be opening a new zoo in Tebay!

This would never have been possible without you! Over a thousand people took action to oppose these plans by contacting Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority. And they listened!

For over 10 years we have been campaigning to close down this notorious zoo where hundreds of animals and a zoo keeper have died.

Through detailed legal reports, undercover investigations, protests, petitions, and an open letter backed by over 33 animal advocates, and all of your support, it has finally happened!

We will be keeping a close eye on the animals who are still housed at the original zoo site, and have offered multiple times to help with rehoming, but have sadly been ignored. However, most of these individuals have already been moved to other zoos that they were 'owned' by.

We cannot thank everyone who fought for this moment enough. This victory would not have happened without you!

Todmorden Country Fair

Our second piece of good news is that the Todmorden Country Fair has been cancelled this morning!

Again, our incredible supporters took action in their hundreds to oppose the many ways in which this fair planned to exploit animals, including camel racing and a bird of prey show.

In a huge U-turn, it has been announced this morning that the whole fair will be cancelled this year, while they review their use of animals at any future events stating.....

This is huge news and shows what can happen when we come together and take action for animals. We are delighted that the event organisers listened to the concerns regarding animal protection, and ultimately have listened to the community of Todmorden.

My final piece of news is that we have just launched a crowdfunder to help raise funds for new equipment for our investigators.

Our investigations have led to many amazing victories for animals, such as the closure of Cumbria Safari Zoo! And they play a critical role in our mission - to end the captivity of all animals.
