Happy Monday!
Yes, America is facing a time of trouble. We are recovering medically, economically and psychologically from a pandemic. The lunatic fringe is rioting in the streets. They have taken over portions of our cities, building border walls even as they demand America maintains open borders. The fringe even wants the police disbanded in the name of the black community -- although the black community strongly disagrees with that idea. But we are putting all that aside, because...
Today is a day to spread congratulations!
First, happy birthday to the United States Army. The Army was established by Act of Congress on June 14, 1775 (245 years ago yesterday), and 245 years ago today, George Washington was named first Commander of All Continental Forces.
And, Happy Flag Day, also June 14. In 1777, Congress adopted the flag of the United States, now known as the Betsy Ross flag design (whether Betsy Ross was actually involved in any way is a separate question for the historians).

And FINALLY, yesterday was President Donald Trump's birthday. Although I neither look like nor sing like Marilyn Monroe, "Happy Birthday, Mr. President, Happy Birthday to you!"
And locally...
Republican clubs are working hard to re-connect with their members and the community. There are several challenges in place, including venue availability. The re-opening rules do not yet allow restaurants and other venues to open with 100% occupancy. Private facilities are even slower to open to outside groups, which include our clubs. So, bear with us. Our groups are trying, but there are obstacles that are beyond their control! We all hope to return to normal ASAP!
