Justice for Ashli? DOJ Agrees to $5M Payout After Jan. 6 Death
|
More than three years after Ashli Babbitt, an unarmed Air Force veteran and Trump supporter, was shot and killed by Capitol Police during the January 6th protest, the Department of Justice has now agreed to pay her family $5 million in a settlement.
The settlement comes after Babbitt’s husband, Aaron Babbitt, filed a $30 million lawsuit against the government, claiming her death was unjustified and preventable. The shooting occurred as Ashli tried to step through a broken window near the Speaker’s Lobby inside the Capitol. She was wearing a stars and stripes backpack and had a Trump flag draped around her neck.

Supreme Court Sides With Trump—Deportation Starts for 300,000 Venezuelan Migrants
|
In a major win for President Donald Trump and those who believe in strong borders and real immigration enforcement, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled Monday that the Trump administration can move forward with ending Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for over 300,000 Venezuelan migrants currently living in the United States.
The ruling overturns a lower court’s attempt to block the president’s decision and now clears the way for removals to begin—finally allowing the Trump administration to enforce immigration law the way it was meant to be.
