Dear Friends,
As House Republicans continue to move forward with their bill that would cut funding for programs like Medicaid and SNAP nutrition benefits, in order to pay for tax cuts that will likely disproportionately benefit the wealthy, I will be hosting a virtual discussion on the path forward with the entire Connecticut House delegation on Thursday, May 22nd at 9:00 AM.
In this bill, 13.8 million Americans would lose their health insurance plan under Medicaid or the Affordable Care Act according to the Congressional Budget Office. It also goes back on President Trump’s promise to stop taxing Social Security. Under their plan, 24 million Americans will still pay taxes on their benefits. Our delegation is united against these devastating cuts and unfulfilled promises. We are working to defeat this bill and not just protect but strengthen programs like Medicaid and Social Security.
As your representative, I want to hear from you. I look forward to discussing these issues and more with you and my colleagues on Thursday.
You can RSVP for the virtual discussion and join online HERE. You can submit a question in advance HERE.
