Dear John,
One of our clients in the Massachusetts buffer zone case, Erica Walsh, was arrested outside a Massachusetts courthouse — for peacefully expressing her views while wearing a sweatshirt.
She wasn’t blocking doors. She wasn’t shouting. She wasn’t breaking the law.
She walked silently on a public sidewalk — exactly where a federal court just ruled protesters have a constitutional right to be.
But that didn’t stop Massachusetts State Police from arresting her anyway.
What was her crime?
She wore a sweatshirt that said, “Criminals Control Norfolk County.”
This is an outrageous violation of Erica’s First Amendment rights — and the Center for American Liberty is stepping in to make sure the state doesn’t get away with it.
Just last week another one of our clients, Jason Grant, was blocked from the same protest area for simply holding a sign with a Bible verse.
Now with Erica under arrest, the pattern is clear: Massachusetts officials are defying the courts and cracking down on free speech.
We need your help — urgently.
Will you make a tax-deductible donation today to support Erica’s legal defense and help us fight back?
Erica and Jason were targeted for one reason: they expressed an opinion the state didn’t like.
But thanks to a major court ruling we secured — peaceful, offsite demonstrations near the courthouse are protected speech.
The state is trying to ignore that ruling. But we won’t let them.
In fact, Judge Joon has already called both sides back to court tomorrow at 3 p.m. — and we need your support to make sure we see this through to a complete and total victory.
Every dollar you give helps us:
