Whether they come from committed UNICEF USA supporters like you or the U.S. Government, contributions to UNICEF are vitally important in reaching children everywhere with the resources to help them survive and thrive.
Investment in UNICEF’s mission for children created $770 million in revenue for American businesses across 37 states in 2024 alone. It means building local capital to best prepare for emergencies, providing lifesaving supplies for malnourished children, expanding opportunities to quality education, protecting children from exploitation and abuse and so much more. |
More than 100 people, including Congressional staff, UNICEF USA partners, UNICEF suppliers, donors, board members and youth advocates attended a breakfast reception on the Hill to discuss how investing in UNICEF is also an investment in the U.S.
In our effort to protect vital funding in the U.S. Government’s annual budget for Fiscal Year 2026, more than 30 UNICEF USA constituents participated in 21 bipartisan meetings with Members of Congress and their staff to advocate for a $150 million investment in UNICEF that would:
-
Work towards reaching the 213 million children who need humanitarian aid this year
-
Provide lifesaving medicine, ready-to-use therapeutic food and humanitarian supplies, procured from American companies, which ultimately bolsters the American economy
-
Prevent disease outbreaks and mitigate conflicts across the world, protecting American families from threats before they reach our borders
Please read more about the importance of Congress supporting ongoing investment in foreign aid from UNICEF USA President and CEO Michael Nyenhuis.
Foreign aid funding is an important investment — not only for society as a whole, but also for the safety, security and prosperity of the United States. We need every single UNICEF USA supporter to continue advocating for the well-being of millions of children.
Will you send an email to your members of Congress and urge them to support ongoing U.S. investments in foreign assistance?
Thank you for taking action for children,
UNICEF USA |
