Our new reality —
From classrooms to boardrooms to local governments and the press, Americans now fear political retribution from their own government.
Think of the CEO who bends the knee after public threats of prosecution. Or the newspaper owner who decides it’s safer to bury editorial criticism of the president.
The president and his lieutenants relish the power of intimidation. And they’re using it.

Before my election to represent Georgia in the U.S. Senate, I led investigations of corruption and human rights abuses worldwide.
More and more, the atmosphere under Trump reminds me of countries where dissent is silenced by intimidation.
“We don’t want any trouble. We’re not sticking our necks out right now. We don’t need an investigation.”
These things should never be said in the United States.

Just consider this —
The U.S. government — our government — is deploying masked federal agents to snatch and lock up foreign students legally in the United States who dare disagree publicly with the president’s foreign policy.
This president is so weak, so fragile and so cowardly that he cannot tolerate dissent and uses force to suppress it.
Just think of the message that sends to the world.
Are we surprised tourists don’t want to come to America anymore?
Are we surprised the best and the brightest don’t want to study or start businesses here anymore?

Friend: Only by regaining Congressional power can we reverse this.
Remember: In 2026, I’m the only Democratic U.S. Senator up for re-election in a state Trump won.
MAGA needs me defeated and gone.
Help me defeat them in a landslide. Help fight back.
Please split $5 between my campaign and Catherine Cortez Masto's today.

With gratitude,

Senator Jon Ossoff
