SNAP helps 42 million Americans put food on the table, reducing hunger by as much as 30%. It’s lifted 2.9 million people out of poverty in rural communities, including 800,000 children.
With families spending more income on groceries than they have in 30 years, the U.S. needs SNAP more than ever.
Right now, the average daily benefit is just $6.20 per person – not nearly enough for a nutritious diet. Tell Congress: Kids can't afford to lose SNAP benefits. [[link removed]]

John, the largest proposed cut to SNAP funding in history has been put forward by Congress, forcing states to pick up some of the cost. The problem is that many states don’t have the resources to fill those gaps.
There’s no sugarcoating it, John: This WILL push more children into hunger, especially in rural America.
Families there already face higher rates of food insecurity, with extremely limited access to stores that sell nutritious food and accept SNAP.
