John — Members of Congress should not be allowed to trade stocks.

This sounds like common sense, but currently, that’s not the way things are.

Members of Congress have access to confidential information that almost no one else does — and right now, they’re allowed to benefit from this information for their own personal financial gain by trading stocks.

This not only gives people who are already powerful and influential an unfair advantage over the rest of us, but it also presents significant conflicts of interest issues.

How are we supposed to trust that our representatives are voting to make our lives more affordable, not line their own pockets? How can we believe that our leaders are looking out for our interests and not their own?

There’s a very simple answer to these questions, John: Stop insider trading, hold Members of Congress accountable, and put an end to financial greed and corruption in our federal government.

I’m running for Congress to put people over profits and put power back into the hands of folks like you. That’s why I support the bipartisan TRUST Act in Congress, which would limit the opportunities for Members of Congress to profit from their positions through access to privileged information.
