Friend, growing up, my parents were always building things. It comes with the territory when you have your own landscaping and snowplow business.

That meant I was around a heck of a lot of heavy machinery as a kid, not to mention a good amount of grease, grime, and grit. But looking back, I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Watching your parents work hard – and seeing that hard work pay off – is what Michigan is all about. We’re the state that built America, our economy, and the middle class. Those values of hard work and resilience are something all Michiganders share, and those values are what drive me to fight for our state to this day.

I love Michigan and I love the people who live here. That’s why I’m running to become Michigan's next senator: to fight for my home state. To stand up for Michiganders in the face of Donald Trump’s unchecked chaos-agenda that’s causing prices to skyrocket. To build a brighter future for Michigan families.

But experts are predicting that our race will likely decide Senate control, and The Cook Political Report has already ranked Michigan as a Toss Up. That means I'm one of the GOP's top targets for defeat, and their megadonor allies will be ready to pour millions into this race whenever they want.
