week: NAFCU focused on PPP, NDAA, economy
NAFCU's award-winning
advocacy team remains active on Capitol Hill this week as the House and Senate
hold hearings on several issues important to credit unions. In addition, the association
will continue to advocate for credit union priorities related to the paycheck
protection program (PPP), fiscal year 2021 National Defense Authorization Act
(NDAA), and future coronavirus relief packages.
Senators
call on SBA, Treasury to streamline PPP forgiveness application
Between
a pair of letters Friday, almost all members of the Senate have called on Small
Business Administration (SBA) Administrator Jovita Carranza and Treasury Secretary
Steven Mnuchin to revise the SBA's paycheck protection (PPP) forgiveness
application with improvements needed to streamline and simplify the process.
