Have you ever experienced what life is like inside our prison system?
If you have, then I don’t need to tell you just how inhumanely
people are treated, and why I need your help to address the systematic
issues in our justice system

BUT IF YOU HAVEN’T, LET ME TELL YOU WHAT HAPPENED TO ME AS A
PRISONER FROM JANUARY 6TH.
In the Washington, D.C. Department of Corrections, my fellow J6ers and
I faced nothing short of the intentional deprivation of basic human
rights: predawn raids, excessive verbal abuse, long stints in solitary
confinement, no haircuts, no religious services, no visits, and denial
of access to lawyers or discovery.
While behind bars, I wondered, _“How could anyone possibly live a
normal life after facing this kind of suffering and political
persecution?”_
I’m not going to lie… I’m not a saint.
I’ve been incarcerated before for mistakes my younger self made
prior to giving my life to The Lord. _But I never experienced anything
like I did when I was locked up for participating in the January 6,
2021, protest at the U.S. Capitol._
There is a SERIOUS need for reform in how the American criminal
justice system operates.
That’s why I started Stand in the Gap.
Stand in the Gap gives me the opportunity to keep driving meaningful
change for those who are incarcerated and those seeking to rebuild
their lives upon release.

Since President Trump pardoned me, I’ve grown significantly. I
prioritize time with my children, focus on my mental health, enjoy
helping others, and strive to stay humble while putting God first.
THIS IS WHAT STAND IN THE GAP DESIRES FOR EVERY FORMERLY INCARCERATED
PERSON, PARTICULARLY FORMER JANUARY 6TH DEFENDANTS.
Unfortunately, most of my fellow January 6 hostages have had a
difficult time adjusting to life after dealing with years of suffering
and abuse at the hands of our criminal justice system.
STAND IN THE GAP IS DEDICATED TO TRANSFORMING THE CURRENT
INCARCERATION SYSTEM INTO A CORRECTIVE ENDEAVOR AIMED AT
REHABILITATION AND SUCCESSFUL REINTEGRATION INTO SOCIETY UPON
RELEASE.
By providing access to quality education and vocational training and
investing in individuals, we aim to equip incarcerated individuals
with the skills and opportunities they need to rebuild their lives.
