Hi there, John! My name is Denise Powell, and I’m the Democrat running to flip Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District. This is a highly competitive race that my opponent Don Bacon won by less than 2 points in 2024. In fact, NE-02 is one of the few districts where both Kamala Harris and a Republican Congressman won.

Here’s what you should know about me: I’m a mom to two kids (and two dogs!), a small business owner, and an active community leader.

That’s why, after Donald Trump was elected, I worked to organize our community around electing everyday, common sense candidates up and down the ballot through the organization I co-founded, Women Who Run.

But our neighbors are struggling to make ends meet right now and there’s no relief in sight. Donald Trump and unelected billionaire Elon Musk are causing costs to skyrocket, and we’re all feeling the pain at the grocery store, gas station and everywhere else.

They’re tearing apart the Department of Education, slashing critical federal programs, and threatening Social Security and Medicaid…all to create more tax loopholes for billionaires.

And where is Congressman Don Bacon? He says one thing to the news cameras and then goes to D.C. and votes against our best interests time and time again. His time is up, and I’m running for Congress now because enough is enough!
