The Hungarian Government's bill: “On The Transparency of Public Life” is on the course to eradicate civil society and the free press in the country.

A Slim Silver Lining
Despite statements from Hungary’s governing FIDESZ party throughout last week, the bill has not been rushed through parliamentary procedures. However following the proposal’s passing in the parliament’s Judicial Committee yesterday, it will be briefly discussed for amendments, after which MPs will hold their plenary vote on the matter on June 10th.
It is fair to say that FIDESZ’s supermajority in the house will adopt the bill without major changes or amendments. From Parliament the procedure moves to the country’s president, Tamás Súlyok, who will likely sign the proposal into law, and make it thereby pass into effect after 3 days.
At the current best case scenario, we have till Friday the 13th of June to collect all of our foreign funding, after which we could become blacklisted by Hungary’s Sovereignty Protection Office.
What is UNITED’ Plan till then?
First and foremost we will continue to push the Network’s crowdfunding.
We are keen on providing you with more coverage of the situation, giving you more content on the subject through our socials and continue to stand our ground in Budapest.
We will also continue our battle through advocacy.
The secretariat is expecting to hold more meetings with our key delegates during this time, schedule appointments with our main allies on the continental stage, and influence decision makers, and international bodies to condemn the country’s crackdown on its civil sphere.

Well, we are glad you asked.
UNITED is not its secretariat, nor its office staff in Budapest, but a chaotic medley of anti-racist, anti-facist and anti-nationalist activists scattered all across Europe.
Yet we are one network bound together in a union by our beliefs and stances.
We need to showcase the worth of this union more than ever, and show that we can stand up to a regime that is very devotedly nationalist, definitely racist, and on the verge of becoming ever convincingly fascist.
Therefore we wish to call upon your devotions, as individuals, groups, organisations or networks to take part in this fight. Save anti-racist, fascist, and nationalist action in Europe!
