John, Black boy joy, peace, and futures matter.
We recently joined Free All Minds Academy for the Free All Minds Young Men’s Mental Health Summit in Camden, NJ—showing up, pouring in, and supporting our young kings. From heartfelt conversations to hugs in the hallway, this wasn’t just a summit—it was a powerful reminder:
Mental health is a movement, and our youth deserve the freedom to thrive.
But right now, too many Black children experience what researchers call "adultification bias," meaning they are perceived as older than they actually are.
This harmful bias leads to:
-
Increased surveillance and criminalization of play
-
Disproportionate disciplinary actions in schools and public spaces
-
Severe limitations on their access to safe, joyful, and free childhood experiences
We refuse to accept this as the norm.
Will you join us today in investing in the mental health, safety, and liberation of our Black youth?

At Black Lives Matter, we’re investing in forward-thinking research and education—developing abolitionist frameworks, transformative curricula, and community-driven initiatives around Black history, identity, and futures.
This event at Free All Minds Academy is one of the ways that we’re showing up for Black youth even when our government has forsaken us.
Your support helps us build the spaces, knowledge, and movements needed for our youth to grow up free, protected, and celebrated.
We can’t do this without your help. Support our mission today and help build a future where Black youth can truly flourish.
Let’s keep creating spaces where our young people feel seen, supported, and fully free.
In community,
Black Lives Matter
Our grassroots movement is pushing for Black liberation every single day. We are striving to create a world where Black people do so much more than just survive. It’s time we thrive.
As an organization one of our biggest hurdles is consistency.
A recurring contribution of anything you can afford goes a long way as we plan for the months, years, and even decades ahead. This is the most effective way for small-dollar donors (like you) to power our Black liberation work.
Will you make a recurring contribution of $5 or more today so that we can keep building momentum for our movement?
