Since his inauguration, President Trump has issued multiple executive
orders targeting programs in California and across the nation that
incorporate or promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Rob already filed one lawsuit against the administration for threatening
to withhold billions from California schools over programs that ensure
students from lower income families have access to the same high-quality
education as their peers, support special education services, teach
English to non-native speakers, and support children in foster care and
housing.

Rob also filed a lawsuit against the administration when it unlawfully cut
off more than $140 million in education grants meant to train and prepare
qualified teachers. These programs get teachers into rural and urban
schools; into hard-to-fill positions teaching math, science, and special
education; and support aspiring teachers.

Now, he’s also co-leading a coalition of attorneys general in filing an
amicus brief in support of a challenge to Trump’s attack on programs and
practices designed to ensure equal opportunity for all.

Not only do these programs drive access to education, innovation, and
economic growth — they also provide essential benefits to ensure a safe
and welcoming environment for all.

As the Attorney General stated, “the Trump administration’s attempt to
remove programs and policies that combat discrimination and promote
economic and social benefits is frankly un-American.”
