Budget Deal to Roll Back Taxpayer-Funded Benefits for Illegal Immigrants

Earlier this session, I introduced a bill to repeal the eligibility expansion that allowed illegal immigrants to qualify for government-funded health care. With our state facing a $6 billion deficit, we need to set priorities that put Minnesotans first. Including this provision in the final budget agreement is a fiscally responsible step forward.

TPT's Almanac: Final Budget Discussion

I recently sat down with Mary LaHammer on TPT’s Almanac to talk about the final, fast-paced stretch of the legislative session. We covered where things stand with major budget bills in the Senate.

I invite you to watch the full interview!

KARE 11 Interview

I joined KARE 11’s Joey McCoy to emphasize the need to be strategic with taxpayer dollars. With a $6 billion deficit, providing free health care to illegal immigrants is simply the wrong priority.

I invite you to watch and let me know what you think!

I recently joined Hot Talk with The Ox to discuss the mismatch in Minnesota Democrats' budget priorities. We also talked about my efforts to push for permitting reform and how regulatory burdens are holding back investment in our state.

I invite you to listen to our full conversation!

This dramatic increase in enrollment is not surprising, as this program incentivizes illegal immigrants to come to Minnesota. This is an issue that Republicans will keep pressing in the final stretch of session.

I invite you to read the full story and let me know what you think!

Democrat Tax Increases

Minnesotans deserve better than a gas tax hike that automatically goes up every year with inflation. I introduced an amendment to repeal the inflator, but every Democrat in the Senate voted to keep this tax increase in place.

Valley News: Taxpayer-Funded Benefits for Illegal Immigrants

Valley News Live recently highlighted my efforts to roll back taxpayer-funded health care for illegal immigrants. As budget negotiations reach a pivotal state at the Capitol, we need to put Minnesotans first.

In the 1990s, Herman, Minnesota, was the site of a unique matchmaking event. The story gained national attention, with Gary Findlay, a former state representative, being one of the bachelors who met his future wife, Rhonda, during this time.

I invite you to read this local story that put Herman on the map!

Students at the Capitol

I recently got the opportunity to meet with students from Battle Lake Elementary School during their visit to the State Capitol. Thank you for your thoughtful questions!
