Budget Deal to Roll Back Taxpayer-Funded Benefits for Illegal Immigrants

Earlier this session, I introduced a bill to repeal the eligibility expansion that allowed illegal immigrants to qualify for government-funded health care. With our state facing a $6 billion deficit, we need to set priorities that put Minnesotans first. Including this provision in the final budget agreement is a fiscally responsible step forward.

Democrat Tax Increases

Minnesotans deserve better than a gas tax hike that automatically goes up every year with inflation. I introduced an amendment to repeal the inflator, but every Democrat in the Senate voted to keep this tax increase in place.

Valley News Live recently highlighted my efforts to roll back taxpayer-funded health care for illegal immigrants. As budget negotiations reach a pivotal state at the Capitol, we need to put Minnesotans first.
