How about that Thunder win?! What a great weekend for Oklahoma City and our entire state as we cheered our team to the Western Conference finals beginning tomorrow against the Minnesota Timberwolves. It's a great time to be a Thunder fan!

This week in the Senate, we're continuing our rapid pace of confirmations on President Trump's nominees, including a hearing in the Senate Finance Committee to consider former Congressman Billy Long to serve as the IRS Commissioner. We will also take up the issue of Stablecoin regulation, which will protect consumers who have invested in a digital currency that is fully backed by American dollar deposits or American Treasury investments. This will strengthen the American dollar and provide another option for Americans who want to use a digital currency, while still protecting the right of all Americans to use physical currency.

This week, we plan to end the electric vehicle mandate President Biden slipped in a month after the 2024 election. In his final days in the White House, he handed California the power to determine for everyone how many gas-powered cars could be sold. Speaking of former President Biden, all Americans are praying for his treatment and recovery after his aggressive cancer diagnosis was announced yesterday. We disagreed on many issues, but I prayed for President Biden while he was in office, and I will continue to pray for him as he fights against cancer.

The House will continue to debate its version of the tax and spending reduction bill this week. We hope to get their version of the bill soon so we can start making our changes to reduce spending and keep our tax rates from automatically going up in January.

Everyone stay weather aware today. It’s the middle of May in Oklahoma, which means severe weather threats. Cindy and I pray the clouds bring rain where we need it and not too much where we don't.

In Oklahoma, we love the Thunder, but we don’t like the tornadoes!

In God We Trust,
James Lankford
