John,
I’m not someone with a lot of money. I struggle to find money for food everyday. I have to fight to have a place to live. So when I learned that over the 10 years I worked at Subway, they stole over $100,000 in wages and penalties from me, I knew I had to act.
Wage theft is everywhere. 1 in 4 workers in LA have had an average of $3,500 illegally stolen from them by bosses, and Black and Latinx workers are significantly more likely to have their wages stolen.
Could you afford to lose $3,500? What about almost 30 times that much?
Luckily, I had a union at my back – the California Fast Food Workers Union – that my fellow workers and I fought for. Stand with us and demand an END to bosses stealing our wages.
