This is not hyperbole: Earlier this year, House Republicans passed the most extreme, most destructive anti-environment bill in American history.

This legislation — which Republicans hope to include in their larger, Medicaid-slashing, cost-raising budget bill — would give giant corporations free rein to drill, mine, and log with little oversight or accountability.

It even includes a corrupt “pay to play” provision, which would allow big oil to pay a fee to exempt themselves from judicial oversight and shut out public participation!

We owe our children, and their future children, a healthy, clean, livable planet. But this bill is a massive step in the wrong direction. Please, sign your name to my petition today to urge the Senate to ELIMINATE this dangerous legislation from the budget.

Today, American taxpayers pay more than $649 billion every year on fossil fuel subsidies, when factoring in health and environmental impacts. But apparently, MAGA Republicans don’t think that’s enough. They want to give even more handouts to giant fossil fuel corporations, all at the expense of our children’s future.

Californians already know about the costly, life-threatening impacts of climate change. When wildfires ravaged Southern California earlier this year, families and communities lost loved ones and suffered hundreds of billions of dollars in financial losses.

And those numbers will reach the trillions if Congress doesn’t take action to fully address the climate crisis.
