I’m angry.
The Trump administration slashed staffing and budgets at the Social Security Administration. Now, there are growing fears of payment delays and cuts to benefits.
Social Security means groceries on the table. It means medicine in the cabinet. And it means dignity in retirement after a lifetime of work. And these attacks on Social Security are targeted blows to the elders who count on this lifeline to survive.
In Trump’s eyes, vulnerable people — like New Mexico’s seniors — are expendable. I won’t stand for that. Not now, not ever.
In Congress, I’ve fought for our seniors and for the American promise they’ve spent a lifetime paying into.
It’s why I’m running for governor and why this race matters so much. When Washington abandons people, governors become the first line of defense. I won’t look away while our elders are pushed aside or left behind.
But I can’t do this alone.
This campaign is powered by people who believe New Mexico can lead with care, not cruelty. And who know that the only way we win is together. If I can count on you, please chip in $5 now.
Be fierce,
Deb
