Millions of unemployed Americans are unable to contribute into Social Security with payroll taxes, which could put benefits at risk years earlier than expected.
And now, the Trump administration is considering proposals to raid your future Social Security benefits for coronavirus assistance.
The Washington Post explains:
Senior White House economic officials also are exploring a proposal floated by two conservative scholars that would allow Americans to choose to receive checks of up to $5,000 in exchange for a delay of their Social Security benefits, according to three people familiar with the internal matter.
A Data for Progress poll finds that only 20% support trading future Social Security benefits for relief now.
Thanks for standing up.
