Good Morning Everyone!

We would like to begin by apologizing for the May meeting notice email not being sent out. Luckily we still had enough in attendance for a quorum and were still able to have the meeting. Below is a summary of things that were discussed and motions that were made and passed.

  • Aric Nesbitt, candidate for Governor, will be attending the Lapeer County Tea Party meeting this Tuesday, May 20th. The meeting will be held at Mayfield Township Hall (1900 N Saginaw St, Lapeer) at 7pm.

  • The next Adopt-A-Highway cleanup is tentatively Saturday, July 12th. Myra will have more details at the next Executive Committee meeting.

  • The new proposed City budget includes operating the City on a deficit, and 6 LPR (license plate recognition) cameras. The engineering study for the proposed M21 & Crampton Park crosswalk has been approved. We are encouraging all who can, to attend the next City Commissioner meeting on Monday, May 19th. It will take place at 6:30pm at City Hall. Please consider making a public comment about the proposed budget.

  • The Executive Committee voted to approve Griffin Boustead as the new Treasurer of the Lapeer County Young Republicans. Congratulations and welcome Griffin.

  • The Executive Committee voted and approved a $250.00 sponsorship for the Senior Spring Drive-up Event. This event takes place on Friday, May 30th from 10:00am - noon.

  • The Executive Committee also voted and approved a $540.00 expenditure for a booth and tables at the Eastern Michigan Fair, which takes place Tuesday July 22nd thru Saturday, July 26th. If you are interested in taking a 3 hour shift, please contact Greg Harper or Jacob LeRoy at [email protected] or 810-356-1298.

  • Bill Hamilton will be manning a table for the Ax Mi Tax petitions during the M24 garage sale on Saturday, July 19th at Mayfield Tavern (2226 N Lapeer Rd, Lapeer) from 9am- 6pm. If you are interested in volunteering please contact Bill at [email protected].

  • The Lincoln Day Dinner was a big success. We had an evening filled with great food, and informative speakers. A profit for the party was made, and we are looking forward to an even bigger event next year.

Sincerely,

Stephanie Hamilton, Secretary
Lapeer County Republican Party
