
United States: In a move stirring both fervent praise and stark opposition, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis inked a measure on Thursday that essentially prohibits fluoride from being added to the state’s public water infrastructure, positioning Florida as the second state to enforce such a directive.
While the enacted statute tactfully avoids naming fluoride outright, its language unmistakably targets “specific additives” used in municipal water systems. This legislative shift is scheduled to activate on July 1.
Speaking in Dade City, DeSantis cast the policy within the broader crusade for what he dubbed “medical sovereignty,” emphasizing the public’s right to choose.
