John, the Trump administration’s blatant corruption is astounding:
The corruption itself isn’t shocking for Trump – but it takes a certain level of hubris to do it so openly. He doesn’t seem to fear any consequences for his actions. He thinks it’s perfectly fine to accept $400 million jumbo jets from other countries and sell his own cryptocurrency for foreign governments to buy in order to bribe him.
I’ll just say it: Donald Trump has to be the most corrupt president in US history.
The President of the United States should not be up for sale to the highest bidder. But that’s what’s happening in Trump’s White House – and foreign governments are lining up to gain his favor and make deals backed by gifts and bribes.
It’s mind-boggling how corrupt things have become. But we don’t have to accept this as our reality forever. There is a new generation of leadership rising up to fight back – and they’re doing it without support from corporate PACs and right-wing billionaires. They’re running campaigns that are not beholden to ultra-rich donors, foreign countries, special interests, or anything other than the people they serve.
That’s what Leaders We Deserve is all about. We are electing the next wave of Democratic leaders – and we’re doing it the right way. When one of our endorsed candidates is elected president one day, they’ll answer to the people. They damn sure won’t be corrupt criminals like Donald Trump and the politicians of yesterday.
