Briona Parkinson is a distinguished alumna of Shaw University and holds a Master of Social Work from George Mason University.
With a deep passion for social justice and extensive experience in advocacy, Briona brings both heart and expertise to her work.
She currently serves as Chair of the Maricopa Area Labor Federation (MALF) and as the Political & Legislative Director and Lobbyist for the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) in Arizona. In these roles, she has tirelessly championed policies that help working families thrive.
Briona is also deeply committed to community service. She was recently appointed to the board of Opportunity Arizona and has served on the boards of Arizona Wins and the Arizona Donor Alliance — demonstrating her broad impact on civic and community well-being.
Guided by her personal motto, “YOU+ME=WE,” Briona’s unwavering dedication to working families is helping build a strong, statewide grassroots coalition to advance policies that uplift and empower everyday Arizonans.
