Since arriving to the Senate, Michael has fought alongside Coloradans to protect and preserve hundreds of thousands of acres of Colorado public land from Camp Hale to Chimney Rock, Browns Canyon to Hermosa Creek.

To celebrate this special day, Michael and Senator John Hickenlooper reintroduced two bills this week to protect over 68,000 acres of public land in southwestern Colorado and 730,00 acres in the Gunnison Basin and the surrounding region. Michael is doing everything he can to pass these bills —and the CORE Act—in the Senate.
But right now, our public lands are under attack. The Trump administration has made clear that it hopes to sell off our public lands to the highest corporate bidder to pay for their tax cuts for the wealthy.
Michael knows better than anyone how to put up a fight and get big things done—and he has the track record to prove it.
As our next Governor, Michael will stand up to President Trump as he tries to strip our public lands of their protections and work with communities across Colorado to make our state the gold standard for new ideas and bold investments to support our parks, public lands, and outdoor economy.
