Just seven weeks have passed since the devastating 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar, and the challenges for women and girls remain immense.

Coupled with rising violence and widespread displacement, over one-third of the population urgently needs humanitarian aid.

Will you rush an emergency donation ASAP? Or if you need to hear more first-hand accounts of how your support will help, read on below! [[link removed]?]

Living near the earthquake's epicenter in Mandalay, Myanmar, Than described the disaster's profound impact and the critical need for relief: “I’ve lived here all my life, but I have never experienced anything as devastating as this earthquake. Everything fell apart in seconds.”

When a UNFPA-supported mobile health clinic arrived, Than recalled, “I felt relief rush through me — it truly saved our lives.”

These mobile clinics are able to be deployed to quickly reach isolated communities and are especially crucial in the midst of acute crises. And the care they deliver is greatly appreciated. “The medical team treated us with such warmth and care, particularly women and girls who were traumatized by the disaster,” said Than. “For the first time since the earthquake, I finally felt safe again.”

With 3.5 million people displaced and many lives lost in Myanmar, your support makes a real difference to those enduring environmental and humanitarian crises. Will you make an emergency gift today to provide critical care in Myanmar and wherever women and girls need our lifesaving care most? [[link removed]?]

In times of crisis, women and girls are among the most vulnerable. Even while navigating extreme loss and destruction, mothers continue to give birth, girls manage their periods, and women and girls survive much higher rates of physical and sexual violence.

Your compassion and support through a lifesaving gift mean more than you may know to those who have lost everything. Due to critical funding shortages, we urgently need to scale up our response efforts to meet the most dire needs of the women and girls we serve. Thousands of women are in Than’s position — and we need to act. Please consider what your support means and make an emergency gift to deliver essential sexual and reproductive healthcare to women and girls in Myanmar and beyond. [[link removed]?]

Thank you for your compassionate response and for choosing not to turn away from women and girls in need.
